A new telephone line has been launched in Staffordshire / Stoke-on-Trent to make it easier for patients, relatives and health care professionals to access palliative and end of life care advice.
The contact number is: 0300 561 2900 and it is supported by specialist clinicians.
Specialist palliative care services are provided across the area by four organisations: Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Stoke-on-Trent; Katharine House Hospice (Stafford), St Giles Hospice (nr Lichfield) & Compton Care (Wolverhampton).
The contact number will allow patients and healthcare professionals to obtain help and advice 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
