The Patient Participation Group, or PPG, is an independent group that works alongside Heathcote Street Surgery to help strengthen communication between patients and the Practice.
The group provides a patient voice, shares feedback, supports positive improvements and helps represent the views and experiences of people using the surgery. While the current group members are patients of the Practice, the PPG also welcomes involvement from people who have an interest in supporting and improving the patient experience.

PPG history
The group first came together in the autumn of 2025. Since then, we have undertaken steps to set up the group’s infrastructure and established regular monthly meetings. The group meets once a month at the surgery on a Wednesday afternoon.
Once the formalities of setting up the group had been dealt with, we initially focused on the waiting area and looked at ways to improve the visual information available to people using the surgery. We have also been involved in the creation of the revised patient leaflet, which is available from the front desk.
Even if you have been a patient at the Practice for many years, we recommend taking a copy of the leaflet, as it contains the latest information about the services available.
Get involved and have your say…
The PPG welcomes input from anyone who is a patient at this practice and would like to help support and improve the patient experience.
